Bad Standing

 

1.      Academic Bad Standing – A member’s failure to meet the minimum required GPA per academic semester as stated in the Chapter Bylaws, will be sent to an academic meeting with the CAB Standards Advisor, the VP Standards, and Academic Excellence Chair. The member will discuss why she failed to meet the requirement and will be asked to sign an academic contract. Member’s who are on academic bad standing lose all social function privileges, has no voice or vote during chapter, and may not hold any office in the chapter.  She may also be assigned to attend study tables or visit the Student Academic Learning Center per the program set up by the Academic Excellence Chair. An academic meeting will be schedule shortly after mid-term grades are released to reevaluate the member’s scholastic achievement to that point. Further action will be taken as deemed necessary and the member may even gain some of her social function privileges back. While on bad standing, members will lose their voice and vote in chapter meetings.

 

2.      Attendance Bad Standing – A member who fails to attend a chapter required event including weekly chapter meetings without an excuse accepted by the VP Standards, will be placed on attendance bad standing. Members on attendance bad standing will be placed on bad standing for one calendar month, beginning on the date of the next chapter meeting immediately following the missed event. Members will lose their voice and vote in chapter meetings for the duration of that time as well as lose their social function privileges, and may not hold any office in the chapter.

 

3.      Financial Bad Standing – A member’s failure to pay bills by the stated time will put a member on bad standing until such bills are paid. Members will have no voice or vote in chapter meetings, will lose social function privileges, and may not hold any office in the chapter.

 

    1. 30-60-90: When a member fails to pay a bill within thirty (30) days of the billing date, the chapter treasurer will provide the member with a thirty day delinquency notice and have the member sign a 30-60-90 day contract. Copies of the letter and contract will be sent to the member’s home address.

1. A member who has overdue bills to the Chapter       and has not made payment arrangements with the Chapter Treasurer will be assessed an additional fine at the 30-60 and 90 day notices.  The fine will be dollars ($10.00) every 30 days, not to total more than thirty dollars ($30.00) for the 90-day period.  Additionally, a member who does not keep a payment arrangement and begins the 30-60-90 process will also be assessed the ten dollars ($10.00) fine every 30 days, not to exceed thirty dollars ($30.00) for the 90 days period.

2. If 60 days after the billing date, the bill has not been paid, the chapter treasurer will provide the member with a sixty day delinquency notice and informed that failure to pay the bill within 30 days will result in National Probation. Copies of the letter will be sent to CAB and the Division 8 Chapter Director.

3. If 90 days after the billing date, the bill has not been paid and the 30 day window given at the 60 day notice is exceeded, the member will be automatically placed on National Probation.

 

    1. Payment Plans: Members who have established payment plans with the chapter treasurer will NOT be considered on bad standing. Payment plans are not exceed three (3) months.

 

4.      Points Bad Standing – Member’s who fail to meet the 200 point requirement by the end of the current semester, will have no voice or vote in chapter meetings and will lose social function privileges for the following semester, may not hold any office in the chapter.

 

5. Social Probation – Any woman that is placed on Bad Standing and therefore cannot attend social functions will not receive any Date Dash, Cruise, Open to Close, or other purchased Kappa Delta social function clothing until the day after the event takes place.
